Seven year old grandson here for a few days--he's gonna hep me grill the surf n turf for my b'day tomorrow evening.  This will be interesting!   I'm pretty picky about the way my rib eyes and lobster tails are done--we'll see how much "interference" I get.   May have to assert "my authority."  EXCEPT his grandmother will say--"Go ahead and let him do it his way."   GRRRR!

aliengriller you are braver than me if you will let a seven year old grill your steak and lobster.

Our nine year old just started learning chops. :)

Savannah--he'll have PLENTY of supervision, trust me-fire going now, almost ready to slap everything on the grill, as we speak!

As it ended up, he found the apricot tree was more fun to climb than help ole granddad grill tonight  Fine by me.   Everything ended up super, IF I do say so myself.  I am so blessed to have such wonderful children and grandchildren in my life.    They make me feel SO GOOD!   The kids and grandkids that were not here with us today all called and/or sent texts for my birthday.   We also went birding to a micro climate place south of Carlsbad, NM, (part of Carlsbad National Park)--saw many bird unique only to there this time of year.   Had a picnic, hiked around in 75 degree weather.   Was a super day topped off with grilling supper out on the patio.   Can't do much better than that!
