Got to do a little fishing this morning...
« Reply #-1 on: December 28, 2013, 02:36:48 PM »
Ran over to our local nature center where they stock trout for the winter season. Took me a couple of hours but limited out on my 5 trout. Waiting for them to get par-frozen so I can seal them with FS4880!!

This was the biggest of the morning. I was using a Berkley worm rigged my way. The guy beside me had his worm "wacky style"; told me I was all wrong. Caught this one first cast/retrieve. Unfortunately, I had caught 4 on Berkley floating power eggs, so I couldn't continue to show him how to do it. I left him with one of my worms. As I slowly loaded up the rest of my gear, he never got a bite. After 20 minutes, still no bite. He asked me how I'd rigged mine....I told him all wrong and left.

If weather doesn't move in..will probably go again in the morning!

Thanks guys! It is always fun when I have the time to get a little fishing in. Got them vac packed and in the freezer. Looks like we should get a warm up Mon/Tues and I will go try again. Wouldn't mind having a nice batch to smoke up on News Year Day with the family.

Tried going back to the pond today.... quit when my line was freezing in the reel. The temp dropped to 13 and the wind was blowing pretty good. The open area on the pond was starting to get slushy with new ice. After about 30 min. and no bites...I came home. But, I at least gave it a try. Don't think I have ever fished with it that cold before.
