Grilling and listening to music...
« Reply #-1 on: June 03, 2013, 09:37:22 PM »
Do you guys listen to music while grilling out on your deck or patio? If you do what do you use?

We are looking for a new radio/stereo that we can play wirelessly and can be used around the house as well. Right now we carry around this little cheap ipod dock that kinda sucks but its what we got lol...

In my option only. ITunes is the best product out there for music. With that in mind I would like to set my wife up with something like this.

http://www.apple.com/ca/macbook-pro/

http://www.bose.ca/controller?url=/shop_online/digital_music_systems/bluetooth_speakers/soundlink_wireless_speaker/index.jsp

We have friends with this setup and the sound out of that little box is simply amazing.

Same kinda thing here. Yamaha outdoor speakers to an Onkyo rec. in the house, and tune the home theater to XM music channels. I guess it depends on how interactive you want it to be from the grill area. For me, I usually pick a channel that fits the mood or the crowd, and leave on as background music.

If you love Pandora you might want to try Iheart Radio too. I was a loyal Pandora listener for years until a friend turned me on to Iheart and now that is all I listen to. It's set up the same as Pandora with a little better selection in my opinion and you can also listen to local radio stations through their sight. So even when I'm traveling I never miss a Cardinals game or listening to local radio.

Y'all probably won't be surprised but I have a Panasonic record player with two speakers that I take out and play 33RPM records on.  I have over a hundred of 'em. Can get some good deals at estate sales and flea markets. Mainly 60's music, classic country and western,  some old timey hymns, and some walzes.  Now to me that is as 'bout of high tech as I am right now.
I would like to have the great system Pam had at the Gathering last year.  It's amazing what that little system she has does.  Unbelievable.  Dee
