NASCAR and the aroma of BBQ
« Reply #-1 on: March 08, 2014, 01:46:24 PM »
It's that time of the year again, NASCAR weekend in Las Vegas.  I'm out here at the track and the aroma of BBQ is all over the place, from the RVer's spending the weekend at the track to the vendors cooking up pulled pork, turkey legs, sausages etc.

Even though I live here and I go home every evening after the races I may consider putting my 5th wheel out here next year and stay out here and join the BBQ fanatics.   :P

Turkey leg and a cold beer for breakfast, what a great way to start the day, especially when the day is my birthday.  :D

Sounds like a blast!

Been to a few races in Fontana. They are a lot of fun!

Never stayed at the inside track before.

I agree they did a great job on this facility and a few years ago they improved it even more when they redesigned the garage area and made steeper banks in the turns.  Now the stock cars are hitting speeds just a little north of 190mph.

Unfortuanely it put an end to IndyCar Series (IRL) racing here because they were hitting speeds near the 230mph mark and the cars were to unsteady on this track.  I was at the race a couple of years ago when Dan Wheldon was killed on the 11th lap, it was a sad day at the track and for the sport.  After that tragic event they canceled future IndyCar Series races at LVMS.
