Bratwurst
« Reply #-1 on: February 10, 2013, 05:57:12 PM »
Last time I made bratwurst I ran out of casings so I finally got some casings and finishing up my last episode :)

Its a bugger gettin them casings on the stuffing tube but i'm gettin semi-pro after a couple years at this ;)

Had a couple casing blow outs but gotter done and on to the boiling pot.

After I took the pot of boiling water to 212°F  I put the brats in the water, put the lid on the pot, removed from the heat source and waited 7 minutes and had an I.T. of 150°F which worked for me. Then ran in cold water until brats cooled and quit cooking.

Ready for grillin or buried in a big pot of spaghetti.

Packaged for a later date, I can't believe my sharpy does not come with a spell check display ;D Had a hard time spelling today ;)

Thanks for lookin :)

That gets my vote too!

P.S.  Aaron I would simply urge using a little more "Braution" when labeling your sausages! Sorry, I could not resist! ;D

Lookin good, I can taste one right now on a bun with mustard and some of my homemade sauerkraut before it's all gone. I got to try some soon, my stuffer has set idle too long. My butcher has me spoiled, his are so good I don't have incentive to do my own. Looks like you have it down pat! Smokin Don
