My Wife is a puppet master and I am the puppet

She plants these seeds in my brain you see, almost subliminally. I am very impressionable as it turns out :P

I have been fairly content with things, not really looking to buy anything at all, well that's a partial lie as I have been looking on brickseek to see if any grills or smokers catch my eye at a clearance price but aside from that just minding my p's and q's.

Much like the disembodied voice in the movie Field of Dreams (If you build it, they will come) she has been talking about buying a truck. Just a mention here and there. She played my brain like a concert pianist. Did I want a truck? No, not really. Could I use a truck? Certainly. I do think they are nice to have but between my Transit Connect and her Escape, we can get most stuff hauled without issue, just not really big/tall stuff.

I'll spare you the long exaggerated details of how we arrived where we're at but as of yesterday, I now have a truck, lol. She's an old girl but she runs good and can use a little TLC. I am getting an alignment done tomorrow and a new radiator (I missed the dang leak when I bought it but oh well).

So, in conclusion, I now have a truck that can haul grills and smokers, bought on clearance of course ;)

A revolving door of cookers and smokers. Some are keepers, some are here today, gone tomorrow!

Congratulations. Every boy needs a "new" truck now and then.

I'll presume you're talking about the truck here (although the description fits a lot of wives too).

Unfortunately you can't haul them to my house (but let me know if you want to give it a shot).
Everyone is entitled to my opinion

In theory that's a great idea but it would probably cost me $500 in gas there and back, maybe more!  She's a thirsty beast, and no Ka Honu, I am not talking about my wife lol!

I find myself a few months from 69 years old without a truck for the first time in my adult life (that is not counting not counting all the trucks my Dad had when i was younger and I wrecked). I feel as lost as a ball in high weeds. I do have an old Honda Element that will haul as much as some trucks, but it is not the same. Excuse me while I go and see if my manhood is still intact.  ;D

If you are single, don't get married, if you are married as we say down South "bless your heart".

Ken I always wanted the Element as a car. Everything I like gets discontinued lol

Yep, we drove a red 2005 Element for over 10 years before passing it on to our mechanic, who bought it for his wife.

I was going to trade my Elment in on a new one but they quit making them. I will just have to keep this old girl running as long as I can. I still want a real pickup truck though.
