More Gumbo For The Soul!
« Reply #-1 on: January 23, 2016, 10:03:46 AM »
Last weekend thru Tuesday we had sub-Arctic weather here in Illinois and the surrounding Midwest. Wednesday and Thursday saw the Sun and rising temps. But yesterday the unkind north wind was blowing cold and relentless. Then it was intermittently spitting rain and frozen rain. $h!&!  Time to make some more gumbo! This batch was smoked chicken and hot Italian sausages with lots of okra, onion and garlic! Served with fresh outta the oven sourdough wheat buttered ala Smokin Don!
Sorry only one pic of gumbo as I was busy assembling appetizers for a party on Sunday for the Championship games. I don't know what you call these things but they are good! Mini smoky links and a chunk of jalapeno wrapped in bacon and they will get a dousing of Super Pig when they bake.
Have a great weekend everyone!  8)

That looks and sounds like the right food for the weather.  Save me a place at your table.
